THUNDER BAY - Intercity Shopping Centre may be reopening on Friday, but one of its most popular eateries will not.

Moxies Grill and Bar on Tuesday announced its Thunder Bay location will not open its doors to customers once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

"Moxies Thunder Bay has permanently closed. Thank you for your loyalty over the years," reads a note posted to the restaurant's Facebook page.

The chain began in Calgary in 1986 and has more than 65 restaurants located across Canada. It is owned by Northland Properties, the company that also owns the NHL's Dallas Stars.

The province on Monday announced malls would be allowed to reopen in certain parts of the province, including Thunder Bay, but restaurants and food court outlets will still only be allowed to offer take-out service.
