OTTAWA, Ont. – Kenora MP Eric Melillo has been named the Conservative Party’s deputy shadow minister for two portfolios: Diversity and Inclusion and Youth, and Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario.
Melillo defeated long-time Liberal MP Bob Nault in October's federal election. He is the youngest member in the House of Commons, at 21.
“I look forward to being an advocate for the inclusion and equality of all Canadians, and to continue to fight for economic opportunities for Northern Ontarians,” Melillo said in a press release.
In the Diversity and Inclusion and Youth portfolio, Melillo will assist shadow minister Raquel Dancho; on the Northern Ontario Economic Development file, he will assist shadow minister Cheryl Gallant.
