MURILLO, Ont. – The Murillo Fair has been a hit for more than 100 years.
Combining rodeo skills and midway rides, carnival food and plenty of prize-winning animals, along with a full slate of musical entertainment all weekend long, it was also a hit this past weekend at the Murillo Fairgrounds, where thousands turned out to take part in the fun.
Fair president Sue-Ellen Blekkenhorst said it was great to be up and running at full strength, after two years of COVID-19 restrictions cut things short in 2020 and 2021.
And it’s not just the fair that has the rural community abuzz.
“A lot of people, even leading up to the fair, were just so glad that the fairgrounds were open again and there are horse events happening on the grounds every weekend up until the end of September,” Blekkenhorst said.
