THUNDER BAY — There's a new app to download for families whose children use school buses in the city.
While "Bus Status 4" still looks identical to the original app used to alert parents and guardians of bus delays and cancellations, the new one runs better on the back-end.
That is according to Craig Murphy, manager at Student Transportation Services of Thunder Bay. He continued that the current app will only receive updates and send notifications until September 29.
After Sept. 29, there will be no notifications or updates sent to the original Bus Status app.
"Faster and more reliable," continued Murphy, as he confirmed that app developers needed to make the necessary upgrades so it could be running at its best. It was more efficient to create a new app than trying to update a current one.
The new app can be found in the Apple App Store and on Google's Play Store.
