Nine new COVID cases, 10 resolved in Thunder Bay district

The COVID-19 case count continues to hover in the mid-60s.

THUNDER BAY — Nine new COVID-19 cases, including eight in Thunder Bay or the immediate surrounding area, were reported Wednesday by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.

At the same time, TBDHU reported 10 previously-diagnosed cases had been resolved since Tuesday.

This brought the active case count to 64.

Since Dec. 12, 2021, the count for the most part has hovered in the mid-60 range.

TBDHU also reported one fewer case in hospital, leaving two patients receiving treatment for the virus in hospital.

Neither patient is in the intensive care unit.

Among the new cases, four are the result of close contact while five cases remain under investigation.

Ontario reported 4,383 new cases on Wednesday, an increase of more than 900 from Tuesday.
