THUNDER BAY — The winner of the Thunder Bay Museum's popular classic car raffle hails from southwestern Ontario.

Doug Heaman, who lives just outside London, is now the proud owner of a 1969 Pontiac Firebird.

"I don't even know what to say. I was just trying to support. I had no idea I would be this lucky," Heaman stated after learning Friday that his ticket had been chosen randomly in the electronic draw.

Scott Bradley, executive director of the museum, said the classic car raffle is one of the most exciting events the museum runs annually.

"It's such a joy to interact with automobile enthusiasts from Thunder Bay and around the province who are excited for a chance to win while at the same time supporting a great cause," he said.

Proceeds of the raffle assist with ongoing operating, programming, and capital costs while also potentially attracting new museum visitors.
