THUNDER BAY – Firefighters extinguished a garage fire in Thunder Bay's north end on Tuesday evening, preventing the fire from spreading to neighbouring buildings.
There was no one inside of the garage, located behind a house in the 100 block of Peter Street, when the fire broke out around 5:30 p.m., Thunder Bay Fire Rescue reported.
The lone occupant of the property did not sustain any injuries in the incident, but was assessed on scene by paramedics.
The garage appeared to have suffered major damage.
At least three pumpers and one command vehicle responded to the fire, along with a Superior North EMS ambulance.
A cause of the fire had not yet been determined, according to TBFR.
