Kristen Oliver is the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association’s new executive director.

Oliver, the president of Leadership Thunder Bay, is a former policy assistant to then mayor Lynn Peterson.

She was also a special assistant to former MPP and Liberal leader Lyn McLeod. Most recently she worked in the communications department at Confederation College and was a member of the Disaster Relief Committee.

“I am really looking forward to working with the NOMA Board and Members,” Oliver said in a release issued Thursday. “It’s an exciting time in this region and I am confident that by working together, we will continue to move Northwestern Ontario forward making our communities stronger."

Oliver replaces Charla Robinson, who left to take over the presidency of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce.
