The North Superior Workforce Planning Board is thrilled about its new office and what it represents for its future.

THUNDER BAY – The North Superior Workforce Planning Board will hold an open house on Sept. 12 from 3 to 7 p.m. at 34 Cumberland Street North Suite 204.

Since 1996, the North Superior Workforce Planning Board has played a critical role in the development and support of the local labour market.

A media release stated that their vision is to strategically align the labour force to meet demands across Northwestern Ontario.

Their mission is to engage community partners by leading collaborative workforce development planning, by building a strategic workforce readiness plan, by creating a dynamic, responsive process to satisfy current needs and prepare people for emerging labour market opportunities within a global economy, and by leveraging community alliances to maximize labour market capacity and competitiveness.

Their mandate is to lead in the creation of innovative labour market solutions by providing authoritative and evidence-based research, identifying employment trends, targeting workforce opportunities and initiating workforce development strategies.
