THUNDER BAY – For the past few years, the city has been a hotbed of culinary delights.
Foodies from around the world have heaped praise on Thunder Bay’s gastronomical goodness, reviews reaching as far as the New York Times.
On Sunday, and for the next two weeks, that expertise is going to be on full display, with the return of the Northern Delights Festival, a biennial event first established in 2015 by the local restaurant community.
Now under the guidance of Thunder Bay Tourism, it’s a chance for diners to sample a wide variety of delectable offerings from 14 participating restaurants, with fixed-price dinner menus of $25 and $35.
“Thunder Bay has a culinary scene that is the envy of many small cities in Canada and it has become a core experience that keeps visitors in the city longer and spending more.” said Tourism Thunder Bay manager Paul Pepe in a release issued on Thursday by the city.
“Northern Delights Cabin Fever encourages regional visitors into the city for date night, hotel guests out of their rooms exploring and residents out of the homes in the cold of winter for a warm selection of affordable delectable curated experiences from places they may not have thought of visiting.”
Many of the menus will feature locally sourced ingredients.
Participating restaurants are:
