THUNDER BAY — One person is being charged following an incident in which city police say an officer was assaulted.
A 30-year-old man faces several charges after allegedly assaulting a police officer during the overnight incident on Nov. 12.
Police arrived at an apartment complex on Cumberland Street around 5 a.m. after they received multiple reports of people refusing to leave the property.
One person was identified by police who was wanted on outstanding warrants.
While officers attempted to arrest the suspect, police say he assaulted an officer.
Once in police custody, it was discovered that he was carrying concealed weapons.
The Thunder Bay resident is facing six charges, including assaulting a peace officer and multiple counts of carrying a concealed weapon.
