THUNDER BAY — An area resident is $100,000 richer after deciding to try out a new OLG game for the first time.

Richard Marshall of Kakabeka Falls won the jackpot with an Instant 5X Money Multiplier ticket.

After purchasing a few tickets at the local Esso station, he checked them at home and was surprised to find one of them appeared to have earned him a big prize.

At first, though, Marshall was cautious.

"I set it aside, thinking 'Yeah, right!' Then I took out my glasses and a magnifying glass to get a closer look. Sure enough, I won! I began to feel so excited," he told staff at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

Marshall then took the ticket back to the gas bar to have it validated.

"I feel nice. I can start doing some things that I couldn't do before," he said, but added that he plans to put the money into his savings for now.
