One person dead in Kenora after being struck by train

Police asking anyone who might have witnessed the tragedy to contact them.

KENORA, Ont. – Ontario Provincial Police say one person is dead in the Norman area of Kenora after being struck by a train on Wednesday morning.

Police, in a release, say they received a report at 5.08 a.m. indicating someone had been hit by the train and upon arrival at the scene, confirmed the victim to be deceased.

The Kenora OPP crime unit and Canadian Pacific Railway Police are investigating the incident.

Police are asking anyone with any information about the tragedy to contact them at 807-548-5534 or 1-888-310-1122.
