One person taken into custody following Friday morning weapons call

THUNDER BAY — One person has been taken into custody following a weapons call on Thunder Bay’s north side Friday morning, city police have confirmed.

Police said they were called to an address in the 100 block of Cumberland Street South at about 9 a.m.

About a dozen police cars were seen in the Andras Court area before 9:30 a.m., and officers had weapons drawn. Two ambulances also blocked off the corner of Wilson Street and Cumberland Street South at the front of the building.

Police said they are continuing their investigation and officers are still in the area.

Further updates will be provided when they become available, according to police.
