THUNDER BAY — Ontario Provincial Police are asking for the public's help as they continue their investigation into a fatal collision on the Trans-Canada Highway east of Thunder Bay last week.
Police want to hear from witnesses to the crash or anyone who may have dash camera video of the collision which occurred at about 6:00PM on Monday, August 19 near Pearl.
61-year-old Joann Mendowegan of Thunder Bay and 46-year-old Christopher Towegishig of Greenstone were killed when the SUV they were travelling in was struck from behind by a tractor-trailer, resulting in a second collision with an oncoming pickup truck.
The driver of the transport truck, who was not injured. was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving.

Crime Stoppers may provide a cash reward of up to $2,000.
