After more than a month of waiting, the opposition parties finally got the chance Tuesday to question the Wynne Government about the problems with the Nipigon River Bridge.

The west end of the new cable-stayed bridge broke on Jan.10, causing the closure of the TransCanada Highway for about 17 hours.

It's since been re-opened to one lane of traffic.

Both Tory and NDP members jumped on the issue Tuesday morning during the start of the winter session at Queen's Park.

Norm Miller, Progressive Conservative critic to Northern Development and Mines, says he questions the Feb. 28 deadline to fully re-open the bridge, calling it another "stretch goal" by the Wynne Government.

Liberal members reiterated that the bridge would be full re-opened by month’s end, as previously stated.
