Two new forest fires struck the Atikokan area over the Easter long weekend.
The Ministry of Natural Resources reports that one of the new fires is believed to be human caused.
At least six forest fires have been reported in the Northwestern Ontario region since the start of the fire season began late last week. At least one of the fires reported is still active, but MNR officials report that it is under control.
