THUNDER BAY — The city has closed a portion of Court Street as the north core streetscape construction project is about to get underway. 

Court Street will be closed from Lincoln Street to Park Avenue, city officials said in a Tuesday news release. Businesses in the area will remain open, and there will be alternative parking available on Park Avenue, Red River Road and in the Waterfront Parkade on Court Street

Crews are expected to wrap up this portion of the project by the end of October later this year. 

The total cost of the north core streetscape projct, which also includes Red River Road, is $13.2 million, with completion expected in the fall of 2024.
