THUNDER BAY — Motorists in the habit of using the Harbour Expressway will have to consider taking an alternate route for an extended period.
Starting Wednesday, the City of Thunder Bay will close the section of the busy four-lane route between Fort William Road and Carrick Street.
The closure is necessary to allow crews to resurface the road.
The work is expected to take 10 days to complete, and will involve removing the existing asphalt pavement and replacing it with two new layers.
According to a news release from the city, access to businesses along 16th Avenue will remain available, and Memorial Avenue will stay open for the duration of the work, but drivers may encounter delays at that intersection.
