Pedestrian hospitalized after serious collision

A pedestrian was taken to hospital following a serious collision on Memorial Tuesday evening.

THUNDER BAY — A pedestrian sustained serious injuries following a collision on Memorial Avenue.

Police confirm that emergency services responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian after 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The pedestrian was transported to hospital with injuries police describe as "serious."

A significant police presence was on scene. Police cordoned off the area of Memorial Avenue between Lisgar and Ontario Streets as well as a small area off the street in front of Badanai Motors.

Police advise the public to expect traffic to be disrupted on Memorial Avenue between John Street and Central Avenue and ask they motorists avoid the area.
