THUNDER BAY — A pedestrian has been injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Fort William Road outside of a controlled intersection Thursday evening.
In a release issued Friday afternoon, the Thunder Bay Police Service said the exact extent of the 29-year-old male’s injuries was not known, but they were not believed to be life-threatening.
Police said the man was struck by a southbound vehicle while crossing Fort William Road near Intercity Mall around 8 p.m.
The pedestrian had been crossing from the east to the west side of the roadway outside of a controlled intersection.
The male was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
An investigation is ongoing, the police service said, urging anyone with information that could assist to contact police at (807) 684-1200.
