THUNDER BAY -- One new permanent speed radar sign will be installed in the coming weeks.
The sign had a $40,000 budget and was purchased for $31,000.
It will be placed along the Arundel-Hudson active transportation corridor. A mobile speed sign will also and on Neebing Avenue between Frederica and Walsh streets, as well as three other locations throughout the city.
“I would think probably on about a monthly basis we could look at moving the signs,” said engineering director Kayla Dixon.
“That gives us a good amount of data we can analyze because the speed rate our signs do provide, traffic and speed data can help us determine if there’s additional traffic calming that’s required in that area.”
