Death investigation in Fort William First Nation

Anishinabek Police Services are holding the scene at Fox Court house.

FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATION – Police are investigating the death of one person who was located at Fort William First Nation, according to a statement from the Ontario Provincial Police.

Police say only that the deceased is female, and that they will not release her identity.

According to the OPP officers with Anishinabek Police Service along with Superior North Emergency Medical Services and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue attended the residence where they located a female who was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

APS and OPP are investigating the death in conjunction with the Officer of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

The investigation involves OPP members from Thunder Bay Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Services Unit, Major Case Investigation Team, and the Regional Support Team.
