Police appeal for public’s assistance in homicide investigation

Police are investigating a homicide after a male was found dead in a home in the 300 block of Ogden Street on Sunday.

THUNDER BAY -- The Thunder Bay Police Service is asking for the public’s help as officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the October 2023 homicide of Abdullahi Mohamed Ali.

Police are looking for anyone who may have observed or interacted with any individuals near Ogden Street and Prince Arthur Boulevard on Sunday, October 15, between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers in the Primary Response Branch were originally dispatched to a residential address in the 300 block of Ogden Street at about 1:50 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15, following reports that a deceased man had been found.

Firefighters with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue and paramedics with Superior North EMS were also sent to the area, but later cancelled when the man was located and confirmed deceased.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Major Crime and Forensic Identification Units became involved in the ongoing investigation, which is being treated as a homicide.
