Police investigate shooting incident

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units are now involved in the continued investigation

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Saturday morning. 

Police said that members of the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre just after 2:20 a.m. following reports of a male who had sustained a suspected gunshot wound. 

Police determined through a preliminary investigation that the male had sustained injuries following a shooting that same morning that occurred at a local bar at 802 Memorial Ave. 

The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time. 

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units are now involved in the continued investigation and a police presence and scene remains in the area of the shooting incident.
