THUNDER BAY — City police are investigating after a school was broken into, with a fire set inside a room in the building last week.
In a Wednesday news release, the Thunder Bay Police Service said officers were sent to the Our Lady of Charity School on County Boulevard during the early morning hours of July 7 after an alarm had been triggered.
The responding officers found signs of forced entry, and a fire was discovered in a room. The fire was extinguished, and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue firefighters were also called.
It is believed the suspects entered the building just after 3 a.m. that morning.
The police service's break and enter and robbery unit are involved in the ongoing investigation, but police said descriptions of any suspects are not available.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police and cite incident number TB23027446, and anyone with home or business surveillance cameras that may have captured anything during the overnight hours of July 7 is also asked to contact police.
