Police investigating south-side shooting

Male victim from Niagara region sent to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police are investigating a shooting incident on the south side of the city.

Police, in a release issued on Sunday, said they were called to an address in the 300 block of May Street South at about 8:20 p.m. on Saturday night, where they found an injured male victim from the Niagara region.

The victim was transported to hospital by paramedics for further evaluation of his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

No arrests have yet been made, but police say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 684-1200. You can submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.p3tips.com.

The victim’s identity has not been released, nor have any description of the alleged shooter.

Police remain on scene on Sunday afternoon, two patrol units blocking an alleyway between two buildings.
