Police investigating sudden death at bus terminal

Male victim found at bus terminal early on Thursday morning, was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay Police are investigating a sudden death at the Waterfront Bus Terminal.

Police have taped off the entire terminal, from Camelot Street to Van Norman Street, while conducting their investigation.

In a release issued on Thursday morning, police said first responders were dispatched to the area shortly after 5:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a male on the property who might be in medical distress. The man was located and transported to hospital by Superior North EMS.

TBPS's major crimes division is investigating and a police presence will remain in the area for the time being.

Thunder Bay Transit has temporarily moved its bus drop-off and pick-up spot to Van Norman Street, adjacent to the temporarily closed bus terminal. There's no indication of how long the temporary site will be in use.
