THUNDER BAY - An investigation by Thunder Bay police closed Highway 102 on Sunday afternoon.
A small stretch of highway near Lydia Ave., about five kilometres northwest of the city, remained closed in both directions for about two hours. The closure resulted in long lineups of cars and transport trucks before the highway was reopened around 2:30 p.m..
Thunder Bay police wouldn't comment on the nature of the investigation, saying only that it was related to an existing case that predated Sunday.
A forensics unit was on hand, while several officers on the scene conducted work on the highway that appeared consistent with a collision investigation.
