THUNDER BAY – City police issued more than 60 tickets to motorists during the force’s first-day of school enforcement blitz Wednesday.
Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say most of the tickets were issued to speeders. Tickets were also handed out during the blitz for seatbelt and child vehicle restraints violations, cell phone use and traffic light violations.
Officers added that many school zones appeared to be surprisingly calm.
Police say the elevated road safety enforcement will continue throughout the month.
