Police take pair into custody at gunpoint

Police took a 27-year-old-man and 22-year-old woman into custody at gunpoint after one of the suspects allegedly pointed a plastic toy weapon at an officer. Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to a call around 5 p.m.

Police took a 27-year-old-man and 22-year-old woman into custody at gunpoint after one of the suspects allegedly pointed a plastic toy weapon at an officer.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to a call around 5 p.m. at an apartment on Hudson Avenue Sunday. Police say they received reports of a man waving a gun around at people. When officers arrived, the man of continued to wave the gun around and ran into the building, police say.

After police made sure the area was safe, a man and woman entered the lobby of the apartment. Police say they arrested both at gunpoint and found the weapon the man had was a toy replica.

Police charged both with weapons dangerous to the public.
