Police warn of fake jewelry being sold in Kenora

Police are warning Kenora residents that fake jewelry is being sold in the area.

KENORA, Ont. -- Ontario Provincial Police are warning residents to beware of people selling fake 18K jewelry.

Police have been notified that individuals driving a small grey hatchback have approached Kenora residents trying to sell fake gold jewelry that is stamped 18K with a story that they are trying to get back to Montreal.

Police say the jewelry has been validated at a local jeweler as fake.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation should immediately contact the Kenora OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or (807) 548-5534.
