THUNDER BAY -- A person associated with St. Bernard School has tested positive for COVID-19

All schools in Thunder Bay are currently in a two-week virtual learning phase, an effort to stem the spread of the virus in city classrooms.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit announced the case on Monday and said they are working with school and Thunder Bay Catholic District Board officials to determine any potential exposure to the infected person. Close contacts, which could be someone in the same classroom or on the same bus route, will be contacted by a public health nurse.

Anyone not considered a close contact will not be contacted and do not require testing at this time.
