Power outage impacts thousands

Over 2,000 customers estimated to be affected by outage Monday night, company reported.

SIBLEY, Ont. – A pole fire led to a power outage impacting over 2,000 Hydro One customers east of Thunder Bay on Monday night.

The outage began just before 7 p.m. and was expected to be resolved by midnight, the company reported.

Customers in Sibley, McTavish, MacGregor, Fowler, Shuniah, Gorham, Jacques, and unorganized townships were impacted, according to a Hydro One notification.

Power was restored for all but two customers by 11:30 p.m., the company later stated, as final repairs were completed.
