THUNDER BAY – Synergy North says up to 1,000 customers were without power on Tuesday morning, but electricity has been restored to the vast majority of them.

The utility company, in a Facebook post, said the remaining 80 or so customers should have their power back by 10 a.m.

Affected customers were in the Norwester area, including along Highway 61, Victor Street, Mount Forest Road and Mountain Road.

The cause of the outage is listed as tree contact.
