Purse-snatching robbery suspects arrested

Following an attempt to steal a donation bin, two men then allegedly snatched an employee's purse and fled the scene.

THUNDER BAY – City police arrested two men last week after they allegedly attempted to steal a donation bin and then ran off with a bystander’s purse.

The incident occurred last Friday on the 900 block of Arthur Street West.

The accused were confronted by a staff members as they attempted to steal the donation bin, and allegedly stole the woman’s purse after a brief altercation.

The two men then fled the scene.

A 31-year-old and a 29-year-old man were located by police a short distance away and were arrested and taken into custody.

Both faces charges of robbery and two counts of breach of probation.

The accused have appeared in court and have been remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
