THUNDER BAY -- A rally in support of Ukraine and its people will be held at city hall on Saturday.

Organizers say the #standwithukraine rally will take place starting at 1 p.m. and everyone is encouraged to show support by waving a flag or wearing blue and yellow.

Social distancing measures will be in place and attendees are asked to respect public health measures.

The rally, hosted by the League of Ukrainian Canadians, will occur days after Russia invaded Ukraine, unprovoked.

World leaders have issued economic sanctions and decried the invasion, but none have offered military help.
