RED LAKE, Ont. — The long-time mayor of the Municipality of Red Lake has died.
Phil Vinet passed away late Tuesday morning at the age of 69. He had been receiving treatment for cancer for some time.
Vinet died in office while serving his third term as the elected leader of the Northwestern Ontario community.
He had also previously been an executive member of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association.
