Red Rock man turns heads with his motorized ice fishing shack (3 Photos)

A converted car has rubberized tracks and skis instead of wheels.

RED ROCK, Ontario — When Donald Stenlund decided there had to be an easier way to go ice fishing, it didn't take him long to come up with a solution that's turning heads in the Nipigon-Red Rock area.

The Red Rock man has converted a car into a mobile fishing shack.

It's equipped with rubber tracks instead of rear wheels, and skis where the front wheels used to be.

Stenlund calls the vehicle the Wolf Track.

Instead of a roof, the unique machine is fitted with a tent that he can raise once he reaches his fishing spot.

"I had this idea last winter, when it was cold out on the lake...so I could go out there and stay nice and warm," Stenlund said.

"The tent comes up like on a convertible. You can stand up and fish inside. I have two holes in there."

The Wolf Track can travel at up to 50 kilometres an hour, but the retiree usually drives at a lower speed for safety purposes.
