THUNDER BAY – A respiratory outbreak has been declared at the Hogarth Riverview Manor long-term care home in Thunder Bay

The outbreak impacts the Orchid Resident Home Area (5 South) at the Lillie Street home, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported Thursday.

That means all admissions, transfers, discharges, and social activities in that unit are cancelled until further notice. Visitors are restricted to family members and caregivers only.

The health unit urged the public to avoid visiting long-term care homes and hospitals when feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections.
