FORT FRANCES, Ont. -- Roads to resources are some of the likely themes for the 67th annual Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association's annual general meeting.
The AGM is scheduled to start Wednesday in Fort Frances. NOMA president Dave Canfield said infrastructure, including roads to the Ring of Fire and access roads for other mining opportunities, is expected to receive a lot of attention.
“The other thing is energy issues,” Canfield added during an interview with CKPR Radio. “When this mining boom takes off we need the power and energy that is going to be needed by the different companies.”
About 180 delegates, including Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, are expected to attend the three-day session.
