MONCTON -- It wasn't the start Ron Rosengren was looking for to open the Canadian Senior Men's Curling Championship.

The Thunder Bay rink gave up five in the third end to Team Alberta, skipped by James Pahl, and went on to lose their first game 10-3 on Sunday evening.

Rosengren, whose team includes third Gary Maunula, second Dale Wiersema and lead Bill Peloza, could only manage singles in the second and fifth ends, adding another with a steal in the sixth to trail 7-3.

Alberta added three more in the 10th to put the match away.

They'll take on Prince Edward Island and Ontario on Monday.
