VERNON, B.C. – Day 2 didn’t go quite as planned for Team Northern Ontario and the Canadian Men’s Senior Curling Championship.

The Ron Rosengren foursome, which opened Sunday with a 9-4 win over Alberta, dropped a pair of games on Monday, falling 5-3 to Prince Edward Island and then was trounced 11-1 in five ends by Sakskatchewan’s Bruce Korte in the evening draw.

Rosengren, lead Bill Peloza, second Dale Wiersema and third Gary Maunula sit at 1-2 after two days, tied for fifth in the Pool B standings.

They’ll look to get back into the win column on Tuesday against Nunavut, the game starting at 5 p.m.

In the women’s competition, Kenora’s Stacey Szajewski was doubled up 8-4 by British Columbia’s Diane Gushulak, evening her record at 1-1. On Sunday she defeated New Brunswick’s Shelly Graham 9-6 to open the week-long event.

Team Northern Ontario will take on the Northwester Territories and Newfoundland and Labrador on Tuesday.
