Rural school buses cancelled, rural public schools closed

City schools remain open for all four school boards on Monday.

 THUNDER BAY – Rural school bus routes have been cancelled for Monday and Lakehead Public Schools is closing its rural classrooms for the day.

Winter weather is to blame.

According to a release from Student Transportation Services Thunder Bay, Crestview, Five Mile, Gorham and Ware, McKenzie, Norwesterview, Kakabeka, Valley Central and Whitefish Valley public schools will all be closed on Monday.

The transportation closure affects all four school boards.

Schools under the banner of the Thunder Bay Catholic, the French Catholic and French Public school boards will remain open and city school bus transportation will run.

All wheelchair accessible vehicles have been cancelled for the day.
