Transit riders were particularly generous this holiday season.

The 2015 Santa Bus campaign collected 7,300 pounds of food donations for the Thunder Bay Food Bank.

That’s great news, said Ken Koza, president of the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 966 in a release issued on Monday by the City of Thunder Bay.

“To the citizens of Thunder Bay, thank you for your continued support of this important campaign,” Koza said.
“Your donations are truly making a difference in our community.”

This was the 21st annual Santa Bus campaign, which invited riders and residents to donate non-perishable food items to help feed the city’s hungry.
