THUNDER BAY – A school bus was involved in a collision on a Highway 61 overpass just south of the Thunder Bay Airport on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident closed the highway shortly before 3:50 p.m. and was reopened shortly before 5 p.m.
The accident, which occurred on the bridge that carries the highway over Rosslyn Road and a set of railway tracks, appeared to involve an Iron Range school bus and at least one passenger vehicle, which sustained visible damage.
Emergency workers were on the scene helping to transfer children off of the bus and into waiting vehicles.
No injuries have been reported by OPP, and the investigation remains ongoing.
