School bus registration opens online

Students who attend senior elementary and secondary schools must register annually, by April 30, and live at least 1.6 kilometres from their board designated school in order to qualify for busing.

THUNDER BAY – Applications are available online for senior elementary and high school bus service for the 2021-22 school year.

Students in need of transportation are asked to submit their request no later than April 30.

To qualify, students must live more than 1.6 kilometres from their board designated school, according to Student Transportation Services of Thunder Bay software, which can be found under 'eligibility' at www.ststb.ca.

Senior elementary and secondary school students may have to walk up to 800 metres to catch a bus in residential areas.

Students who register at a school other than their designated board school will not be provided transportation and any student who does not ride the bus at least once in any 20 consecutive school days may be subject to removal from busing and must reapply in order to be reinstated.

Additional information for parents will be available on the STSTB website by the end of June.

Lakehead Public Schools:

  • Hammarskjöld High School
  • Westgate Collegiate & Vocational Institute
  • Superior Collegiate & Vocational Institute

​Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board Schools:

  • Bishop E.Q. Jennings Senior Elementary School
  • Bishop Gallagher Senior Elementary School
  • Pope John Paul II Senior Elementary School
  • St. Ignatius High School
  • St. Patrick High School

​Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boréales Schools:

  • École catholique de La Vérendrye
  • École secondaire catholique de La Vérendrye
