THUNDER BAY -- School buses will not run Friday due to road conditions, while several rural schools will close.

Student Transportation Services of Thunder Bay said the decision was made due to "extremely poor rural and urban residential road conditions."

Schools that will be closed Friday include Crestview, Gorham and Ware, Kakabeka Valley, and Central Whitefish. All other schools remain open.

Snow clearing crews have struggled to keep up after some areas received more than 40 centimetres of heavy snow on Wednesday.
