THUNDER BAY – A second suspect has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a local man on Pearl Street on Sunday.
The Thunder Bay Police Service announced Wednesday investigators with the Major Crimes Unit had charged James Howard Halverson, 49, of Thunder with first-degree murder and breach of undertaking.
Police laid a first-degree murder charge Monday against 44-year-old Jaime Osmar, along with a charge of breach of recognizance, in connection with the death of a 41-year-old Thunder Bay man whose name has not yet been released.
Officers responded to the incident around 10:15 p.m. Sunday, finding a victim with serious injuries in the 200s block of Pearl Street. He was later pronounced dead at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
A third suspect in the case remains at large.
Police detained multiple people Monday as part of the investigation after gaining entry to an Ambrose Street home.
