THUNDER BAY — The rehabilitation of a lengthy section of Mapleward Road will cause inconvenience for some motorists for the next one-and-a-half weeks.
The City of Thunder Bay announced the closure of the stretch between Oliver Road and the Solid Waste & Recycling Facility as of Monday.
It said the shutdown is necessary to allow for resurfacing, which will require the removal of existing asphalt, grading and re-paving.
Traffic will be detoured around the work site via Gratton Road.
During the closure, the landfill site can only be accessed from the north, using John Street Road to Mapleward Road.
